Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Data Engineer specializing in data integrations with Marketing Data Platforms to join our team at the media agency. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines to integrate marketing data from various sources into our Marketing Data Platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow, enable data-driven decision-making, and support marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate marketing data from multiple sources into Marketing Data Platforms (e.g., Google Marketing Platform, Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Collaborate with marketing, advertising, and analytics teams to understand data requirements, define data models, and implement solutions that meet business needs.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and error handling mechanisms to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of marketing data.
  • Optimize data integration processes for performance, scalability, and efficiency, considering factors such as data volume, frequency of updates, and system dependencies.
  • Work with third-party vendors, API providers, and data partners to establish data connections and APIs for accessing external marketing data sources.
  • Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve reliability, stability, and performance.
  • Document data integration processes, data flows, and system dependencies to facilitate knowledge sharing and support ongoing maintenance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data integration, Marketing Data Platforms, and marketing analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or related role, with a focus on data integrations and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience working with Marketing Data Platforms (e.g., Google Marketing Platform, Adobe Experience Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and integrating marketing data from platforms such as Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, data warehousing principles, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and related data services (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery) for data storage and processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data integration challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
